    🎇Big news! Prof Juergen Knoblich @IMBA_Vienna @oeaw @MedUni_Wien joins #TeamIHB as its new Head. Bringing extensive leadership experience, he is also a pioneer in #organoids biology. His lab was 1st to develop an organoid model for a human brain disorder. Welcome @Knoblich_lab!

    Bioengineered models of lymphoid tissues. Current state-of-the-art models of the thymus are based on 3D organoid cultures of primary or human pluripotent stem (hPS) cell-derived TECs, combined with decellularized tissue scaffolds and stromal cells that support T cell development (blue cells). Models of lymphoid follicles commonly recapitulate features of germinal centres by culturing re-aggregated tonsil or peripheral blood mononuclear cell-derived lymphocytes with or without scaffolding under conditions that support B cell (shown in red) maturation.
