Oh you hit 4 hole but are too good to bunt? Because Oregon State’s 4 hole just laid a bunt down with bases loaded in a 1-1 game for the College World Series. Sometimes helping the team win means putting your ego to the side. Whatever it takes!
Extremely thankful and excited for this opportunity! Can’t wait to get to work! Thank you to all of the people at Russellville for their love and mentorship. I am blessed beyond measure. #WildcatNation
Congrats to Jess Smith, hired last night as new head baseball coach for @shsbaseball4. Smith has served as assistant at Russellville and is a 2012 graduate of Fort Payne HS. Played at Central Alabama CC and @UNAAthletics
‘Twas the night of Christmas (10 PM) and all through Scottsboro not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Except two seniors out long tossing on their own trying to get better. I’ll take texts telling me the lights to the field are on all night if this is what I come find!
Man I’m thankful. I’m thankful for my guys. I’ve needed them more everyday than they could have possibly have needed me. Im thankful to coach and lead alongside my best friends everyday. This has been a crazy year 1, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m a better man bc of it
Received this email this morning from one of my students at my previous school. In a time clouded by uncertainty and discouragement, this was the greatest reminder of my why! It’s true when they say you will need your students and players more than they need you.
Completely opinion based statement im about to make but can new age/old school baseball coaches coexist without harassing the others methods? At the end of the day, your ability to Coach is reflected in your players ability to get the job done. Also, your impact > your knowledge.
I wish these people pointing the finger at Saban for this Tua injury would just put the headset on for one series and call the shots and see what happens. Sit on your couch and worry about your job, not arguably the greatest coach in the business.
Out with the old and in with the new! Thanks to Scottsboto Dugout Club, our supporters and all the volunteers that helped make this happen. We got better!
