The Inner House of the Court of Session has refused an appeal raised by Fair Play for Women against the Scottish Ministers. Fair Play for Women had raised a review around guidance for a Scottish census question about a person’s sex.

The capacity to hold High Court jury trials has now returned to pre-COVID levels. With the use of remote jury centres based in cinema complexes (funded by the Scottish Government), court capacity has returned to 16 trial courts.

At the High Court in Edinburgh, Lord Arthurson imposed an extended sentence of 28 years on Andrew Miller after the offender pled guilty to the abduction and sexual assault of a child. The custodial part will be 20 years with an extension period of 8 years bit.ly/46Rqb1G
