At a Urology conference in Hawaii. My 3 year old daughter just saw two men walk into the meeting room and said “mommy - boys just walked in there. Boys can be doctors too??” 👏👏👏 #WomenInMedicine #ILookLikeASurgeon

Well, it happened…I had to use a stethoscope. Mid-flight emergency on an international flight and I was the only physician. It has been about a decade since I last used one and I did confirm a heart beat, so I’d call that a win.

Most of the time my 5 year old tells me she hates my job because I can’t pick her up at 3pm like the other moms. Today at pre-k grad she announced she wants to be a kidney doctor when she grows up ❤️ with a pretty accurate pic! My dad was just happy she didn’t say a penis doc…

I started as staff @MayoUrology the exact same day these guys started intern year. They grew as residents as I grew as a teacher. What an honor to get the Novicki Education Award from this group of outstanding trainees and now Urologists. Their patients are in great hands!

Props to the @Endo_Society for having this close to the main #WCET22 rooms. I’m past needing this (thank goodness!), but have spent hours of my life walking to the far corners of conferences to pump. This is how we support and encourage female participation in academic medicine!
