Great news for our security and the Eastern Flank! Slovakia 🇸🇰will receive €2.3 billion from #SAFE 🇪🇺to strengthen its defence industry, reinforcing a sector that is already vital to the security of the EU & NATO while supporting economic growth and creating high-quality jobs.

It’s a deal on #AGILE! New ultra-fast defence innovation programme agreed at ultra-fast speed. Four months max for grants to reach 🇪🇺🇺🇦🇳🇴 SMEs&start-ups, for super-fast delivery of disruptive defence products to our armed forces. Speed is vital to defend and deter!

6 EU🇪🇺 defence startups from 🇨🇵🇱🇻🇫🇮🇪🇪🇸🇪🇵🇱 were awarded grants from the EU program #BraveTechEU 🇪🇺. These 6 companies will further test & develop their defence technologies & products in Ukraine. With small steps 🇺🇦-🇪🇺 create a forward looking industrial alliance.

My Kyiv visit started with opening 3rd EU🇪🇺-Ukraine🇺🇦 Defence Industry Forum. Hundreds of UA and EU companies working together to develop new military capabilities & innovate. 🇺🇦 has the strongest army and with EU will have the most technologically advanced defence industry.

Joint defence projects are helping speedy integration of Ukraine into the EU. With @FedorovMykhailo we signed agreements to associate 🇺🇦 with two key 🇪🇺defence industry programs - EDF & EDIP/USI. UA is becoming part of our 🇪🇺 policies & instruments. Integration in progress!

Today in Kyiv met Speaker of the Rada🇺🇦 @r_stefanchuk. EU🇪🇺 supports Ukraine with €90 bln (2026-2027) to acquire more air-defence. EU militaries, defence industries & innovators are already learning from UA. Sincere partnership & solid ground for new defence alliance.

Experience shows - if MSs go for joint procurement, the price for military equipment goes down by 30%. If all their defence procurement during the next 10 years would be realized in the way of joint procurement, it can save €3-3.5 trln. 3/3 Annual #EUBudget Conference
