    Google refused to answer a single question related to its social or racial justice blocks. Rather than unblock terms, YouTube doubled down and blocked terms like, "black excellence" and "antiracism." More here: themarkup.org/google-the-gia…

    Almost a decade ago, Safiya Noble (@safiyanoble) wrote about how searching for one’s identity on Google can return a slew of pornographic results. In 2018, Noble wrote an entire book on the topic called “Algorithms of Oppression.”

    One of the groups FB identified in August as a distribution system for "low-quality, highly divisive, likely misinformative news content" was still being recommended to 20% of Trump voters in our Citizen Browser panel throughout Dec (and also after Jan 6th).

    We found Keyword Planner recommended hundreds of sexualized terms for “Black girls” and “Asian boys”, but none whatsoever for “White girls” and “White boys.”
