Award shows are tedious and crass, but the smile on Tracy Chapman’s face when the auditorium goes nuts for her before she takes everyone to school with no lip sync, no auto-tune and no in-ear monitors is a pretty sweet moment to capture live.

Not that there aren’t a hundred other examples, but I don’t know how any one could watch this scene and not understand that above all, Hannibal is a romance.

No beef, but they have become so ubiquitous that at a live telecast the potential for a problem with monitors and/or the venues PA system is much higher than at a regular gig, so she was confident enough to play even if she couldn’t hear the band and stay in tune and tempo.

I wonder if the companies who hire Mads for commercials ever look more closely at the kind of engagement they get on social media rather than just the sheer amount of it. Because in the last 20 hours over 90% of y’alls tweets contain the word “Daddy”

The level of Fannibal twitter activity on my TL is such that if a nuclear bomb went off in a major city the same day that Mads appeared in a new ad, I’d find out about the bomb a week later.
