A personal health update: 2 weeks ago today, I had a single mastectomy. Definitely not part of the original plan, but sometimes the plan changes and you gotta pivot like Ross Geller. I finally got clear margins and I am now breast cancer free! No further treatment needed 🙌🙏

I took this photo on Feb 20, the day of my annual mammogram, thinking it would be a cute idea to promote breast health. But the lighting was bad so I deleted it. Then 2 mammograms and 1 biopsy later, I received a diagnosis: breast cancer.

Happy to report the surgery went well 🙌 Dr said she got it all and is pleased with the results 🙏 So I’m resting today and yelling at Tony Finau every time he misses a putt ⛳️ #recovery

Sometimes even the best plans need a detour 🚧 Pathology revealed more calcifications than expected & they need to go back in to get wider margins. So, second surgery today. Just a bump in the road/blip on the screen/kick to the nuts. Still so grateful! ❤️

Managing an absolute flood of emotions today. Back at Piper Breast Center for my first mammogram since being diagnosed with breast cancer. Results were all clear! 🙌 But man the tears were flowin 🥹 A reminder to get screened every year and give a hoot about your hoots 🦉🩷

Never ever ever did I think I would need a place like @mnoncology but man I am so thankful for them! 6-month checkup today… leaving with the all-clear 🙌🥹🙏

Thankfully, it was detected very early and my treatment plan is to have a lumpectomy, followed by 3 weeks of radiation. I am SO thankful and blessed to have this option 🙌 Without early detection, I would be going down a much different road.
