Here is the final version of my thread about 19th century commentary on the Second Amendment. This version is cleaned up and includes sources for nearly everything. I did it a 3rd time because a typo at the start of version 2 bothered me way too much.

My spiciest deeply-held view is that being on welfare should void your right to vote until you are off of it (not counting retirement benefits and certain Veteran's programs). The status quo is too busted. Politicians are incentivized to try and purchase votes by handing out

A machine gun possession charge was dismissed by a district court in Kansas yesterday on Second Amendment grounds. The court found that machine guns are clearly bearable arms, and in this case at least, the government failed to show a historical tradition to justify their ban.

If your Second Amendment rights are violated and you sue, courts drag it out, and any preliminary injunction against the gun law is reversed or stayed by the antigun circuit court, and then SCOTUS denies cert on the excuse that they don't want interlocutory cases. Takes years to

It's now confirmed. The suspect being charged with firing shots at an ABC affiliate office is a gun control supporter. And incredibly, they let him out on bail.
