The police didn't restore order, the community did, the police only returned once we put out the fire with buckets and dispersed the crowds ourselves!

The scenes we saw in Leeds last night are totally unacceptable. The local authority, WY Police and the community have done a good job to restore order. And although some are trying to use these events to stoke division, we must stand united. We are stronger together.

A memorable night ruined by a racist thug. I was invited to speak at the EuroAsia Curry Awards on Monday night, it should have been an exciting opportunity. But on my way there, outside Earl’s Court station, I was subjected to an Islamophobic hate crime. I have now reported it

I had to leave the Green Party Conference early today to visit the mosque that was firebombed in Peacehaven. It's times like this we've got to come together as a community to stamp out hate and those thay seek to divide us.

For the second night a peaceful vigil in Harehills this evening of Christian prayer and hymns, an atmosphere of healing for this community. We don't need outside agitators trying to sow division!
