Today, the NCSC, alongside international allies, has published a new advisory on defending against the threat from Russian state intelligence actors. To read more on the threat and how to mitigate it ⬇️ ncsc.gov.uk/news/uk-and-al…
Quote card with a picture of NCSC Director of National Resilience, Jonathon Ellison, facing the camera wearing a suit.

The quote reads:

Today’s joint advisory provides decisive, actionable directions from the global security community that network defenders should implement to protect against Russian Intelligence operations and secure the UK’s critical infrastructure.

I’d strongly encourage all organisations, especially those entrusted with UK critical networks, to adopt these recommended measures immediately, thereby reducing the risk of compromise.

Mitigating the threat from future quantum computers is a challenge that needs addressing now. Migration to post-quantum cryptography (PQC) will take years to complete. To learn about the key milestones and necessary steps to take towards PQC⬇️ ncsc.gov.uk/guidance/pqc-m…
Image of a roadmap with the title: "migrating to post-quantum cryptography". Text reads: The NCSC has set some key milestones to help organisations migrate to PQC by 2035. Here's what you need to know
2028: Initial migration plans built. Organisations should aim to have completed the discovery phase - this is about understanding your systems, services, components, data, and your suppliers and their plans. An initial migration plan should be completed that covers the entirety of your estate, and identifies services dependent on cryptography that will need to be upgraded to PQC.
2031: high-priority migration complete. The target date for migrating the highest priority services, and for refining your migration plan. The NCSC is already working with government, industry and international partners to support organisations' migration to PQC and contribute to global standards.
    2035: PQC migration complete.
The target date for completing migration to PQC for all your systems, services and products.
A successful migration will be underpinned by good asset management, clear views into your systems, services and infrastructure, and actively managed supply chains.
