Intentionally trying to sabotage a high school coach’s career & livelihood because YOU believe he should be starting your son is absolutely freakin’ pathetic… Worst part is circumstances like that happen more often than you might think.

Going D3 is not “settling”. Going D3 puts you among the top 7% of ALL high school athletes nationwide. Going D3 (or ANY LEVEL of college sports) is a damn privilege!

The best 8-year-old isn’t always the best 12-year-old. The best 12-year-old isn’t always the best 16-year-old. And the best 16-year-old isn’t always the best 21-year-old....Kids all develop differently. Keep encouraging, teach them to compete, & don’t underestimate late bloomers.

You don’t “settle” for D3. You go to a D3 because it’s the best fit for you as a student-athlete. Don’t listen to the knuckleheads who say differently, do what’s best for you and run your own race!

If you’re getting contacted by D3 coaches and rudely telling them you’re ONLY interested in D1 programs don’t be surprised when D1 coaches find out and never show interest. Coaches constantly talk and circles are small. No coach, AT ANY LEVEL, wants an obnoxious ego maniac.

If you’ve played for a coach that ran a disciplined program, held you accountable and pushed you out of your comfort zone to get the best out of you, you’re lucky. Coaches who hold you to a higher standard believe in you and know you’ve got untapped potential.

High school sports are fun. Kids should play for that reason alone. Problem is lots of club coaches tell kids not to compete for their high school so there’s more time to showcase & “get seen”. And kids end up being the ones missing out on the experience. It’s a shame.
