Reporter who can speak 6 languages is reminding me of an icebreaker we did when I started a grad scheme - two truths and a lie. One girl's lie was that she could speak three languages "because I can speak FOUR, hehe" - and that is how I knew very early on that I would dislike her

I wrote about why women must rise up, as one, to abolish hen weekends. Apart from the reductiveness (women-only!) and weird competitiveness of them, I refuse to spend £400 on a weekend of penis straws and prosecco that largely resembles living in Clapham x

The thing about comments from Kirstie Allsopp and Molly-Mae is that they are intended to be empowering - "you can do it if you just try". But they end up being profoundly disempowering, because they deny the truth of people's economic reality, and blame them for it.
