Like many others, I have become increasingly disenchanted with this platform. New Year's resolution: following many of my colleagues, I am moving our lab account over to Bluesky. Find us and follow us at @reisesousalab.bsky.social.

This is a blatant misrepresentation of our work science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…. Our study does not in any way suggest that the application of SPF50 sunscreen “blocks our natural defences” or is detrimental to health.

My surname was born 136 years today. My dad’s family comes from Goa, India. Forcibly converted to Catholicism in 16thC, they took the name of the priest, Souza. My grandfather was born on 6 Jan 1886, Dia de Reis (Epiphany). He became Reis e Sousa.

Scientists at the Crick, @theNCI and @aalborg_uni found that vitamin D encourages the growth of a type of gut bacteria in mice that improves cancer immunity. The @CR_UK -funded work includes Crick researchers @ReiseSousaLab and (formerly) @giampazolias crick.ac.uk/news-and-repor…
