Our hearts break for everyone @uofnevadapolice for the loss of Officer Bonnie. She was hit by a vehicle today while helping us search for a shooting suspect. Officer Bonnie was an outstanding K9 and partner. Rest Easy.
The City of Reno has issued a mandatory curfew effective immediately. Residents are asked to please avoid the downtown area, and to adhere to the curfew to help protect the safety of our community. As a precaution there will be heavy police presence downtown throughout the night

Today, @reno_police had a new Police Chief for the day! Nine year old Ben Anderson had a wish to be the Chief! It was an honor to have him help us keep our community safe. (Ben was diagnosed with a rare terminal genetic brain disease called X-link Cerebral ALD)
