Today I am returning home to be with my family during an incredibly painful and deeply personal time. Our family’s 12-day-old daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter has returned home to God this afternoon. We have been in God’s hands throughout all of this.

While I had planned to be present for votes today and tomorrow, my family needs me now. In moments like this, there is no greater responsibility than being by the side of those we love, offering comfort, support, and remembrance.

The administration stopped monitoring foodborne illness, and now it’s turning into a shitty situation for Michiganders. I’m going to be leading an oversight effort demanding answers from the CDC on why they weren’t prepared and how they plan to respond.

Happy 250, America! This Fourth of July, as fireworks fill the sky and families gather, let’s remember that the American story is still being written, and each of us has a part to play in it. Today we celebrate our history, each other, and the promise of tomorrow.

Michigan put the world on wheels! As a car girl from the heart of America’s auto industry, I think Union Station looks better with Ford vehicles. 🇺🇸🚗

Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill gutted Americans’ healthcare and ripped food from hungry families in order to pay for a tax cut for billionaires. More than 8 million Americans have already lost their healthcare and over 4 million Americans have lost food assistance. In the richest

Women in America do 62% of all unpaid caregiving.  Over 280 hours a year picking up prescriptions, taking kids to the dentist, or watching over aging parents. That's $682 BILLION in invisible labor.  Caregiving is a key pillar of our economy, and it is time our policies reflect

Congress actually got something done and passed a bipartisan bill to lower housing costs. But President Trump is refusing to sign it. His indifference is nothing but an F-U to the American people.

Today is an important step forward for protecting kids online.   The KIDS Act moves us closer to holding platforms accountable and putting children's safety first. It's meaningful progress, but our work isn't over. We'll keep fighting until we get the strongest protections
