One of the opening acts of Trump's war of choice was the massacre of schoolkids in Iran. Those kids would be alive today if Congress had done our job and restrained the president's lust for power. Sadly, House Republicans again blocked a bill to end the war. A contemptible

Yesterday the National Capital Planning Commission came up with a mind-boggling solution to fit Trump's arch under the Height of Buildings Act: Shrink the arch down to 130-ish feet, then expand the golden statue to get to 250 feet. This would make the arch, like, 40% statue.

Most notably, the bill eliminates key repayment plans that graduates have come to rely on. Many borrowers found relief in the SAVE plan, which after months of limbo is now completely eliminated. New borrowers have access to only one plan that will increase payments for most.

Students are expected to pay more for school, all to pay for tax breaks for billionaires and corporations. We need people with advanced degrees make our country strong, so those degrees must be affordable for all. Trump and Republicans put those degrees farther out of reach.
