American Sports Centers, the huge training facility in Anaheim next to the 5 freeway, has closed. Lease being terminated today. Because of COVID-19 it has had zero tournaments and events and none are on the schedule @ocregister @ocvarsityguy

Steve Bisheff died today - 42 years as a sportswriter and columnist in Southern California, more than 20 years with us at the Orange County Register. Wrote a great many books, too, with John Wooden a favorite subject. Great writer; great friend and mentor, too.

Mater Dei has forfeited its game of last week vs. Bishop Amat because MD used an ineligible player in that game. The player is a senior who transferred to Mater Dei. It has been discovered the player already used up his 8 semesters of athletic eligibility @ocvarsity
