Did you know that .onChange method in SwiftUI can also capture the old ore previous value? Just enclose the value in []
.onChange(of: someValue) { [someValue], newValue in
print(someValue, newValue)
}
If you have a real device with iOS 16 connected to Xcode, there is a new button int the preview that is “Preview on Device”. When this is checked, your phone turns into the preview window and you see live updates as you code. Discovered this thanks to a question from @kct3937
I am teaching an iOS Bootcamp for Apple next month to educators. We will be building 2 or 3 simple apps, but in the process introduce a lot of content with references to one of my videos for more info as new concepts are introduced. Would this make a good YouTube series?
Had fun today on this Canadian long weekend putting together a replacement for the TabBar in SwiftUI. Surprisingly easy. Link to GitHub repo is github.com/StewartLynch/C…
I am pretty stoked as I think I finally have a good understanding of SwiftUI GeometryReader and how it works with different coordinate spaces. It was one of those lightbulb situations that clicked with me. I am thinking of doing a video on the topic. Is there interest?

I am overwhelmed by the number of people who said that they wouldn’t mind hanging out with me if I went to WWDC. I have just decided to commit to another year of producing YouTube content with the goal of making the pilgrimage to Cupertino next year. ❤️❤️❤️
The thing about iOS dev is that you can be an absolute crap coder and still publish an app to the App Store. How do I know? I have 12 of them on the App Store. It has only been since I have been doing YouTube videos that my coding has improved. Still humbled by others though.
