this is joao, the world’s oldest chimpanzee. his exact birthdate is unknown, but he is between 72 and 77 years old. he’s led a long life — from being forced to work in a circus, to living in a zoo.... to jane goodall’s sanctuary where he is now: chimp eden. we love you, joao.
