In Asia and the Pacific, 280,000 people acquired HIV in 2025, while PrEP uptake remains far below what is needed. The new Political Declaration sets a global target to reach 20 million people annually with antiretroviral-based HIV prevention by 2030 - expanding effective options

Progress towards the 95-95-95 targets has been maintained, despite the funding cuts in 2025. However, treatment gaps persist, including among children living with HIV, where only 54% are on treatment. We must close these gaps. More on UNAIDS data: unaids.org/en/resources/d…
