AAA: Beaurcracy makes it hard to do anything so the game isn't getting updated
Indie: Jeff got depressed so the game didn't get a patch in 6 months, but now he's too embarrassed to come back so the game isn't getting updated
Twitter has a list of neo-nazi accounts because Germany has strict laws about that, but Twitter doesn't actually do anything about the problems they cause, it just hides them from German accounts.

Looking back on old titles and claiming they were flawless back in the day undermines a lot of reality.

I love older RPGs, but so many are unbeatable without patches (Arena is the worst offender imo)
I will never forget a veteran dev telling me "I love my game, it's my baby, but my baby has been around for a while and now it's a 30-something with a drug habit. I want a new baby."
Did you not play Masquerade, Morrowind or Arcanum? Those are like my top 3 games of my teen years and they were SO BUGGY.
Masquerade was beyond help and NEEDED the now obligatory fan patch.
Morrowind was all over the place with bugs.
