What starts with one knitting machine can become a business. What starts with one woman can support many more. When women have the means to move forward - entire communities move with them. A truly inspiring visit to Khadija's tailoring business, Nakh wa Sozan, in Afghanistan.

Great to meet with H.E. Paul Matete Nena, Permanent Representative of Lesotho. Reaffirmed @UNDP’s commitment to supporting Lesotho’s development priorities. From governance reforms to digital transformation, climate resilience and youth employment.

A partnership that lasts decades can shape real transformation. @UNDP’s work with Bulgaria has supported its journey from transition to EU accession - and now to a development partner in its own right. A pleasure to meet H.E. @GuerKaradjova to discuss deepening our cooperation.

Good exchange with H.E. Dr. Aboubakar Nacanabo, Minister of Finance & Economy of Burkina Faso. We discussed strengthening our partnership to support the RELANCE Plan, building resilience and development financing - while preserving investments in people and long-term stability.

This is not the moment for the international community to look away from Afghanistan. The cost of disengagement will be far greater than the cost of sustained support. @BarhamSalih and I spoke to @AP following our joint mission.

UNHCR is saving lives. @UNDP is giving people a future. We need to do both. My joint message with @BarhamSalih, High Commissioner of @Refugees, in Afghanistan. Protection and development must work together from the very start. That is how communities move beyond crisis.

At TAK Dry Fruit in Mazar-e-Sharif, I saw how @UNDP’s ecosystem approach creates jobs across the economy. Here, support to farmers, local infrastructure & private enterprise is helping this business grow and employ over 300 women. This is what investment in recovery looks like.

Glad to be here with you, @BarhamSalih. In Afghanistan - safe return, protection, livelihoods, basic services and resilience are all part of the same story. That is why @Refugees and @UNDP are here together: connected challenges need a connected response.

Resilient Sutan is showing what moving beyond crisis looks like in practice. Safer shelter. Restored water. Reliable energy. Flood protection. Support for livelihoods. This is how @UNDP is helping communities rebuild stronger and regain stability.

I'm not Rashid Khan quite yet, but apparently, I held my own! Loved having the chance to play cricket with local young people in Nangarhar. Across countries and cultures, joy is universal.

Here in Afghanistan, climate resilience is not abstract. With @UNDP support, this flood protection and irrigation work in Sutan - where women crafted the wire mesh and men made the bricks - is helping reduce disaster risk, protect farmland and create income.

In Sutan, community leaders told me they feared last year's earthquake would erase their village. But with support to rebuild their homes, restore basic services and revive livelihoods. Sutan is still standing. I was deeply moved by their gratitude to @UNDP and our partners.

Good evening from Afghanistan. Here, crises rarely arrive one at a time. 3 in 4 people cannot meet their basic needs. Emergency aid saves lives. Development gives people their futures back. I am here to see first-hand how @UNDP can help communities move beyond crisis.
