Planting date is important in #soybean, but the driver is emergence date. If you plant on April 10th and April 23 and both plantings emerge on May 2nd don't expect a yield response to planting date. #TheMoreYouKnow

I see Corteva Agriscience came out with a corn smart phone yield estimator. I have one for soybean. Take a picture of your field. The yield estimate will be 50bpa +\- 50bpa. I think it should be pretty close...

Drought induced K deficiency starting to show up. Don't waste money trying to "fix" the problem with in-season apps. This will get fixed when it rains! Understanding Nutrient Requirements and Utilization for High Yielding Soybeans coolbean.info/library/docume…

Sage advise from Tom N .. beans need a few days before stand counts. Tops fried off on both and main growing point is dead. Pic 1 is dead completely. Pic 2 has 2 growing points alive. It will send up 2 shoots from these spots. Take 3 days or so to decide what needs replant.

There is no scientific evidence that GMO's are unsafe; there is overwhelming scientific evidence that recent weather patterns are erratic (e.g., climate change). You cannot choose to believe in ONE of these "truths". You either believe in science or you blindly follow propaganda.

Excellent picture about what happens developmentally when you get off your strips!

Every night during snuggle time my girls ask me to tell them stories from when I was a kid on the farm. Tonight I told them about the time I slipped on the ice and injected 20cc’s of cow penicillin into my thigh..I really need to write a book about my adventures & why I ain’t 💀

Check out the importance of management-based variables in a random forest model for predicting #soybean yield. The further right the dot the greater the importance. Anything surprising? From our recent paper rdcu.be/cyanm

I really wish #Twitter would inform me when I lose followers. I have figured out if I post anything that is either neutral or remotely negative towards #covercrops (that is 100% science based) I lose followers. Oh well! It is what it is! 🤷‍♂️

I know everyone is concerned about the drought but now is the best time to have one for soybean. Even in high yield situations less than 15% of total DM is achieved by R1. If it starts raining in July and through August we will be just fine...if you can kill the weeds!

We saw no yield differences among soybean traits (E3, LLGT27, and RR2X) on a state (P=0.89) or regional (P=0.55) basis in WI. We did not have enough RR or RR2Y entries to test against.

Our early beans are down ~12%from what they typically run. I don’t know where these yield estimates are coming from but I don’t see them out there. Go ahead and put that winter wheat in the ground.

Our 2021 WI #soybean herbicide tolerant trait comparison. No differences across platforms for pooled E3, LLGT27 or XtendFlex varieties. That's great news for WI farmers! Check out individual variety performances here: coolbean.info/wp-content/upl…
