Prof Harold Ellis qualified in 1948 during the inception of the NHS. Till this day he has dedicated his life to it, to surgery and to educating & inspiring future generations. BOTA would like to thank him for his years of hard work, dedication & for being a role model to so many!
Ms Samantha Tross (@samanthatross) is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing in London. She also became the first black female orthopaedic surgeon in the UK in 2005. Thank you for everything you have done for the orthopaedic community! #BOTABHM

Massive congratulations to Mr Alistair Mayne @MayneAlistair who is a Trauma & Orthopaedic Registrar in Northern Ireland for winning the Walter Mercer Medal, awarded annually to the candidate who achieves the highest mark in the FRCS(orth) exam at the first attempt.
