#TheExorcist works because Friedkin spends an *absurd* amount of time building Regan’s character and the bond with her mother. Shes beyond adorable. It’s not just terrifying when she becomes possessed but also TRAGIC. It’s both heartbreaking and horrific. Masterpiece.
