Today we published BAT Roadmap 4.0, outlining our future plans for Brave Rewards. We're planning major changes to help users and creators earn and transact more easily.
Here are some of the highlights of our plans...
We've made it easier to search specific sites through Brave Search!
Brave Search now includes search bangs in its suggestions so you can quickly find these shortcuts.
You can also browse the full list of 12,000+ bangs supported on Brave Search here: search.brave.com/bangs
Andy McMahon, Principal AI Engineer at @Barclays, argues that observability and kill switches matter more than raw capability when it comes to AI agents.

5/ Creator payments for AI
AI models and tools commonly use creator content for training and inference without compensation.
We're planning a Creator Contributor Protocol that lets creators to earn microroyalty payments when participating AI products use their content.

Together, these initiatives create a system in which browsing, transacting, and content creation can each contribute to sustained BAT demand and broader BAT utility across the Web.
Today we've released the improved Brave Place Search API!
Our Place Search API allows apps to access detailed location information such as businesses, landmarks, and points of interest for a fraction of the cost of Google Maps.
While most search APIs scrape Google, Brave Search API uses our independent index. This means Brave Search API has:
- No risk of shutdown or throttling by Google
- Stronger privacy guarantees
- Easier legal and security review
Your product deserves a reliable foundation.
Cookie pop-ups are aggravating and could be used to track you even if you don’t click “Accept.” That’s why Brave takes the safer approach: blocking the pop-ups from appearing altogether.
