My dad taught me to program (along with a lot of passive smoking!) when I was about 4 or 5 because he thought it would be the future. It was the greatest gift he gave me, and I have never been as excited about it as now.

Agreed! Our school let them all have ice cream. Imagine if workplaces tried to pull this crap.. you get a bonus for not taking any sick days.. they’d be taken to court in a hot minute.

If you're on macOS and have Homebrew installed, run `brew cask install quicklook-json` and Quick Look will let you look into JSON files properly.

It says a lot about me that I found this bit on Computer Chronicles about "changing" a C program to C++ quite funny.

The irony is that Cloudflare being down also took down the site I often use to see if things are down.. 😂

If you wanna be really shocked, look inside those baby batteries and you'll find more batteries. Then inside those are more batteries. No-one knows how it works, it's just a never ending fractal of batteries.

Now this is cool and useful as heck. Draw something at shapecatcher.com and it'll show you the closest Unicode matches to what you drew.

To put age into perspective: Grace Hopper first entered computing at age 38, completed the first compiler at age 46, influenced the design of COBOL at age 53, wrote COBOL for the Navy through her 70s, retired from the Navy aged 80 and *then* became a consultant for DEC(!) 😍
