    Before asking “what should I take for my depression?” Ask: - have I slept well? - have I eaten well? - when did I last exercise? - have I seen my friends lately? - when was the last time I spoke to my family? Internal before external

    My grandmother (86) told me this last time we spoke: "Raise your kids wells so you can spoil your grandkids. Don’t raise your kids well and you will have to raise your grandkids yourself." 80+ years teaches what we can't learn anywhere else.

    fear is only overcome by running through it way too many times. scared of public speaking? do it 100 times. scared of talking to that girl? talk to 100 girls. scared of publishing your work? do it 100 times. there *really* is no way around it.

    yes they do. we should expect people to realize they are just that - fiction; and then allow them to act accordingly. fiction can set both unrealistic expectations and inspire for the greatest actions in us. better to have both than neither.
