Some days I really struggle to understand how senior developers manage to get so many unnecessary abstractions in their code base. Don't they realize that SOLID and design patterns are a means to an end, not the goal itself?

There's no command-line git vs UI git. There's no var vs explicit type. There's no mouse vs keyboard. There's no event souring vs crud. There's no micro-services vs monoliths. There's no SQL vs NoSQL..... Great professionals use the right tool for the right job.

I don't understand why C# developers prefer an interface with a single member over a named delegate. The latter is just as easily found and doesn't need ugly mocks.

When you're .NET 5 code was expecting System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException and your .NET 6 version gets a Microsoft.Data.SqlClient.SqlException...
