Wish I had read @morganhousel's Psychology of Money months ago, so many gems especially: "beware taking financial cues from people playing a different game than you are." Twitter has been great for exposure to investing strategies, but rarely are they one size fits all.

BD in crypto is such a fun exercise in first principles thinking. Very few good web3 playbooks to pull from. Moats are rare. Market volatility makes planning hard. So many interesting experiments to run on everything from pricing to onboarding to moving upmarket.

Some reflections after 3 months at this: • Have genuinely enjoyed it • 3 LOIs + 1 IOI so far • It's not as easy as @laughridge's tweet made it seem 🙂 • There's no manual, best way to learn is via trial and error • Took this long to land on my target deal criteria... (1/4)

Personal update: After 5 months of searching full time, I'm switching to a portfolio of bets. I'll be spending part of my time building out sales at flockhomes.com and the rest (mostly building) and buying (mostly online) businesses.

LLC setup, CPA hired, splitting time working w/Flock Homes and building Shopify businesses. A good reminder to be flexible on paths to a fixed goal. This setup solves for what I've been looking for - WFH, on my schedule, on interesting projects, in a tax advantaged way.

Building new payment rails is such a great crypto use case of taking out middlemen fees. Every time you swipe your card, all of these providers take a cut. Visa is the 10th largest public company and Stripe is the 6th largest private company in the world.

Have been wondering why there aren’t more women on SMB Twitter, my current theories: • No matter who you are, you have to be very fortunate to spend months looking for a biz with no/lumpy income • It’s hard/expensive to balance running (most) businesses with kids
