We are a sociopathic society. "In the lab, COVID is a Level 3 biohazard (yellow fever, West Nile virus, tuberculosis). In schools, it's no big deal. I don't think you can reconcile those two statements." - Colin Furness (infection control epidemiologist) cbc.ca/news/canada/ne…

Let's be honest. We are a sociopathic society. "In the lab, COVID19 is a Level 3 biohazard (yellow fever, TB). In schools, it's no big deal. I don't think you can reconcile those two." - Colin Furness (infection control epidemiologist). cbc.ca/news/canada/ne…

SARS-CoV-2 causes more damage to your immune system than HIV. Both viruses induced a reduction in B cells and CD4+ T cells, but SARS-CoV-2 infection caused a more severe reduction in total T cells, CD8+ T cells, and NK cells than HIV infection.

SARS-CoV-2 can infect inner ear cells, specifically hair cells and Schwann cells, which are crucial for hearing and balance. Some COVID-19 patients developed hearing loss, tinnitus, and vertigo, suggesting a link between the virus and these symptoms. nih.gov/news-events/ni…

Why are people so sick? Something big changed in 2020. What could it have been? It seems like it's on the tip of my tongue; something that rhymes with Mars.

SAR-CoV-2 damages kids' blood vessels. "Children infected with SARS-CoV-2 show elevated levels of a biomarker tied to blood vessel damage. Many examined children testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 are being diagnosed with thrombotic microangiopathy."

"People on their second, fifth, or tenth infection are starting to experience things they never expected: sudden heart attacks, strokes, autoimmune diseases. They’re realizing that being a “survivor” doesn’t mean being unharmed."

The Survivorship Bias That’s Killing Us: Long COVID and the Myth of “Moving On” It’s easy to believe everything is fine when you only see the survivors. The people who didn’t die, who seem to be “back to normal,” are the faces we focus on. But what about the ones you don’t see?
