This is Stetson Billings, 31. He’s a UPS driver. Some days, his wife brings his kids to meet him for lunch during his route. They are about to have his third child. Some parents would never want their sons to be UPS drivers but he is winning at life!

Ian has never had a black friend. This is what we all do. My preaching in a traditional black church is the exact opposite of my style in a white evangelical church. Not even close. Code-switch is the double-consciousness skill we’ve all had to learn. Do whites not know this?

Last week, I reached out to 20 churches seeking housing for a homeless pregnant woman (20) and her boyfriend (21), who also need housing & parenting support. Only one responded thus far, saying they only help people involved in their church.

This church in Nigeria was burned to the ground by Islamic Fulani militants. In the US, Christians walk into churches with coffee shops and think of “persecution” as a culture rejecting their values. Meanwhile, Nigerian Christians are being massacred: 5 died on June 21st.

There was a time in American history when this was the goal of a “Man Cave” for middle-class men. Living like the aristocracy was a goal. Today, it’s TVs, gaming, not books. (Blah, blah, I know, “Well, not for me and I read on a tablet”…Ok, congrats. No need to reply).

It’s almost always working class men (of color) who have to clean up behind the graffiti of liberal elites: climate change, Gaza protests on college campuses, etc. Put that in the slow cooker…

Dear Lord, This sibling group, ages 14, 11, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 1, no longer has biological parents & needs a family to adopt them all. I pray that a church in Arkansas has a family with large home willing & able to keep them together. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

Parents, if your child reports being sexually abused in your church, go to the police. Let them handle it. Don’t go to the church leadership. Just call the police. I hate to say this but don’t assume church leaders will do the right thing. Many of them are too weak & pathetic.
