GERMAN NUCLEAR OPERATOR: WE CAN KEEP RUNNING, ONLY NEED "OK" News clip has emerged showing that Chancellor Scholz and Economy Minister Habeck have been falsely claiming that nuclear plants cannot operate because of staffing and lack of fuel. They only need political permission.

I have a 5mo baby. I invited three mid-20s friends to a restaurant dinner with their girlfriends. After ordering I handed over the baby and had each of them spend 5 minutes holding the giggling chubster, as their respective ladies looked on. Will report back in 18 months.

Word is out: Microsoft is plunging ahead on nuclear energy. They want a fleet of reactors powering new data centers. And now they're hiring people from the traditional nuclear industry to get it done. Why? Lack of stable long-term power, whether clean or dirty, is constraining

First night of Germany's grid without nuclear: it's bad. It's night. No sun. Wind has dropped to almost nothing. Most of German "renewables" right now is richly-subsidized bioenergy with half the net CO2 emissions of an efficient gas power plant. Importing nuclear from France.

Chicago's four local nuclear plants are cranking out immense power, taking care of Chicago while helping support the surrounding areas. They sit on about 100 acres each. They're running at 100% power in these dark frigid days. They'll last 80+ years. The energy of the future.

Massive cultural shift: superstar Democratic congresswomen @AOC describes how she safely visited a triple-meltdown site in Japan. She further describes French nuclear waste recycling as a good thing. She has 9 million followers, many of whom are young women. This is wild:
"Howare you keeping safe in the exlusion zone? What dose of radiation are you receiving during your visit? Be safe and thank you for your service!"

"Thank you! I had an individual geiger counter strapped to me the entire time, which monitors the cumulative radiation a person is exposed to...

There are Geiger counters on everything, everywhere. Nuclear operators were timing how long we were in different respective zones... We got pretty close [to] the reactor - close enough to see the explosion site and rubble - but there was also a defined zone where we did not cross.

At the end we went through all sorts of protocols and technologies to measure... exposure. At the end of the tour, my final Geiger counter measure was 0.2 mSv - the equivalent of roughly two chest X-Rays. I decided for myself beforehand that that level of exposure was worth the information and policy expertise from the experience. For me, understanding + studying the science and scale of radiation puts me more at ease"
"France uses nuclear power. How do they manage it differently? They don't have earthquakes..."

"I can get into more detail later, but one key difference in France's nuclear technology is that France recycles their nuclear waste.

When we discuss the risk and controversial parts of nuclear, a lot of it centers on nuclear waste and what to do with it. Nuclear waste is radioactive, and needs to be securely taken care of.

France recycles their waste, increasing the efficiency of their system and reducing the amount of radioactive waste to deal with. The US does not recylce our waste, whch means ift builds up and gets stored on-site. Japan sends its waste to France and the UK for recycling but does not presently have recycling facilities of its own [sic]"

DENMARK VOTES ON NUCLEAR To ban or not to ban - that is the question today in parliament Copenhagen, where for forty years there's been something rotten in the state of Denmark's energy policy: a ban on nuclear power. Voting starts in minutes. We're not expecting the nuclear

Looking at German electricity this week you could be forgiven for forgetting they've spent FIVE HUNDRED BILLION € on a renewable energy "transition" They're just straight up fossil powered! With high costs, high carbon, and a shrinking economy. I labeled it for you below.

Poland is starting to build a fleet of large reactors TODAY, immediately after signing contracts. They have this one great chance to bury Germany economically. Germany's economy was based on large and middle-sized industrial companies running on cheap energy. Where did that
Natural gas prices have fallen from last year when this chart was made, putting much of the light yellow natural gas power plants into the range of the brown and black coal. I've roughly indicated this price drop in red.

This is still too expensive for German manufacturers, according to German Economy Minister Robert Habeck.

HOW TO SOLVE NUCLEAR WASTE: 1. Collect the spent fuel 2. Put it in an iron container 3. Put that in a copper container 4. Put that in a hole surrounded by clay... 5. ...Deep in stable granite. Done. Note: we can store it above ground but this is one failsafe way to bury it.

German utility execs who champion the Energiewende are starting to panic after this month's shocking 12-day wind drought. RWE CEO Markus Krebber posted a desperate plea for more "secure" power supplies this morning on LinkedIn. The situation is coming to a breaking point.
