This is an historic moment for South Africa: Today the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) declared a crypto asset as a financial product under the FAIS Act. This Declaration was published in the Government Gazette as well as the FSCA website.

I still hear people saying “crypto is a solution looking for a problem” So consider this: Normally sending $1000 from the US via banks will land you with ~$955 worth of ZAR in South Africa With crypto, sending $1000 will land you with ~$1034 worth of ZAR in SA Let me explain:
