This trend of judging engineers by their GitHub contribution graph must die. If you want quantity, just hire AI. If you want quality, look deeper. One of our Seniors has only merged 2 PRs this month, as he must master & rewrite a very critical dependency, and I wouldn't merge

We paused Parallel EVM last October for this exact reason — 2x throughput in exchange for complex node integration with forks. There were many lower-hanging fruits for a 2x. Nevertheless, after another year of tackling the hardest performance problems, we’re bringing Parallel

13 days later, on the same $160/month bare metal, we've gone from 90k to 111k peak TPS. Extremely stable without a single block lag. Ceiling still nowhere to be found. Modern hardware is amazingly fast; we just need to write much better software!

Truth. My latest PR removed 2.6MB of practically unreachable Reth code from our sequencer binary. Another recent one rewrote a payload service that is more explicit, leaner, faster, and yet is shorter than using Reth's API (+121 −153)! Given the recent Reth bug(s) and npm

A $160/month server can already sustain 60k~111k TPS. However, a CPU of that server may only handle 4-5 heavy eth_getLogs, eth_call, or eth_estimateGas requests a second... RPC throughput & latency aside, there are many race conditions as we lower the block time and promote
