Real freedom- is protecting the people- who are unable to protect themselves. Real freedom, is about community and tolerance and teamwork. Real freedom, is about having knowledge and the wisdom to wield it to help others.
If homeless individuals were building shelters out of wood in front of the house of commons, they wouldn’t get so far as putting up a single wall. They would be removed by the authorities.
I am extremely humbled to be awarded the Order of Canada. I love my country. I love my freedom. I love the opportunities I have been given- simply because I was born in this great and glorious land.
