๐ŸŒ€New cover alert! The amazing work of @FlorentWaltz and colleagues made it on the cover of @ScienceMagazine and I had the honor to create the visuals! #sciart #coverart #blender3d

In mitochondria, respiratory supercomplexes (blue) pump protons across crista membranes to create an electrochemical gradient, fueling adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthase (pink) to regenerate ATPโ€”the energy currency of life. Now, cryoโ€“electron tomography captures these

Confession: I never finished a donut๐Ÿฉ tutorial by @andrewpprice After 7 years of #blender I finally did it. No regular donut, but a biomolecular one and sprinkles are glucose & fructose molecules. I hope that counts ๐Ÿ˜… One question left: would you eat it? #b3d #donut #sciart

Let's teach our (bio)molecules how to fly. The new tutorial is online! It is again a rather quick one about simple animations in Blender. I hope you enjoy it! #b3d #SciArt #animation #biochemistry #blendercommunity

Sometimes cover designs do not make the cut and are just not chosen. This is one of them. It represents the brilliant work of @A_Amunts published in @Nature (nature.com/articles/s4158โ€ฆ) #sciart #Blender3d #b3d

I am currently playing with different materials that are further from my usual style. Here I tried to create a ribosome to look like kelp ๐ŸŒฑ or something you would find in the sea. Structure imported using #molecularnodes and image is rendered with @Blender #sciart #b3d

I just finished recording two #Blender3d tutorials on how to make your protein bloom ๐ŸŒธ One with a classical emitter system and one with geometry nodes incl. animation. Enjoy some preview images as a teaser ๐Ÿ˜Š #sciart #SciArtSeptember

Playing around with a very thin wireframe. When zoomed out, it looks like it's part of the material. Only when zoomed in, it's recognizable as such ๐Ÿ”Ž Btw, the #enzyme is an imine reductases showing off it's pretty dimeric structure. #sciart #Blender3d #biocatalysis

I have seen the awesome render of PDB 7Y5E (PBS-PSII-PSI-LHCs megacomplex) by @Matthew_BaTiSiO and just had to check it out myself. What an impressive structure! Enjoy the submarine-themed version ๐Ÿ˜ #blender #b3d #sciart

That was truly a enjoyable project! Some time ago, I did a cover design for Bernhard Hauer and co-workers (@Uni_Stuttgart) for one of their publications in @ChemCatChem. Protein engineering taken literally ๐Ÿ˜„ #Blender3d #b3d #sciart

I saw the latest @Ducky3d tutorial and immediately thought, that I have to try this on a molecule (of course) ๐Ÿ˜ I haven't done small molecules in a while, so that was fun! If you want to do so as well, the link is in a comment โฌ‡๏ธ #sciart #Blender3d

Recently I tried to incorporate more volumetrics into my rendering. Here's a cloudy "membrane" with transport proteins. Not quite scientifically accurate, but a fun practice project ๐Ÿ˜โ˜๏ธ #sciart #Blender3d #b3d

As promised, the blooming proteins tutorials are now live ๐ŸŒธ You can choose between going the emitter system or geometry nodes route. Or why not both? ๐Ÿ™ƒ emitter: youtu.be/PSXJ4Xht0qU geometry nodes: youtu.be/j3JM-yRdeRg #blender3D #b3d #sciart #tutorial #YouTube
