Thrilled to share that I have joined @AnthropicAI as a life science researcher! I am confident that Claude will do amazing things to accelerate biology. Big things ahead!
Today was my last day at the @arcinstitute. I was the first scientific hire in 2021. It was incredible to see the institute go from just an idea to world-class science in such a short period of time.
Very grateful to have worked with so many amazing scientists on several
What if you could recombine any two DNA sequences in a programmable manner? We discovered an RNA-guided recombinase that can do just that! So happy to have co-led this project with @ntperry13
Just shared at @KeystoneSymp a new @arcinstitute discovery of the bridge RNA recombinase mechanism: a new class of natural RNA-guided systems that retains the key property of programmability from RNAi and CRISPR while enabling large-scale genome design beyond RNA and DNA cuts
Our 2 bridge RNA papers are finally published in @Nature! Check out the incredible CryoEM structures, they're truly beautiful. A years-long rollercoaster ride, it's hard for me to imagine a more exciting project than this. Thank you to @ntperry13, @pdhsu, and our amazing team!
What if we could universally recombine, insert, delete, or invert any two pieces of DNA?
In back-to-back @Nature papers, we report the discovery of bridge RNAs and 3 atomic structures of the first natural RNA-guided recombinase - a new mechanism for programmable genome design
Excited to announce that I’m starting a new position as a senior fellow @FutureHouseSF. I’ll be working on applying AI agents to metagenomic workflows.
Very grateful for the opportunity to learn and explore my scientific interests. Please reach out if you’d like to collaborate!
Thrilled to see this published! It was great working on this project with @JoshTycko, @AlisonFanton, @pdhsu, @BintuLacra, Mike Bassik, Ami Bhatt and others these past few years. It has definitely been the highlight of my scientific career!
well, here we go. @sama, Masa and others are backing new company trying to become a Bell Labs for the modern age. scoop here - corememory.com/p/exclusive-al…
Bridge RNAs are the likely ancestor of eukaryotic snoRNAs! Really exciting evolutionary analysis from the @shsternberg lab. Awesome to see that IS110 transposons may have played a key role in the evolution of complex life! So much to learn.
Hey folks, I know most deadlines are fast approaching, but I am applying for assistant professor positions this cycle, and I would appreciate recommendations for open positions!
My research plan is focused on MGEs, genome engineering, and applying AI to biological discovery.
