One way to show both yourself and your local wildlife some kindness is just to kick back and let your garden go a bit wild.
Let the grass grow and give up on weeding - if anyone asks, you're doing it for the animals, duh?

The 1,475 silhouettes represent fatalities under British command on June 6th, 1944.
They include two nurses, Sister Mollie Evershed and Sister Dorothy Field, who died while helping to save 75 men from the hospital ship SS Amsterdam.

A living memorial with roots in history is about to flourish once more. Here are some unique facts you may not know...

Originally planted after WWI by veteran Edmund Blyth, the Cathedral is a peaceful, green sanctuary honouring lost friends and comrades.
Its “walls” are formed entirely by trees, shrubs, and plants, arranged in the shape of a traditional cathedral!

Just like any cathedral, Whipsnade needs constant care. Ash trees planted in 1938 have been removed due to a fungal disease.
Now we’re planting 12 resilient wild service tree saplings in their place to boost biodiversity and restore the Cathedral to its former glory!
