50 years ago, Martin Newell used only 3 bezier curves (32) to create a perfect, smooth 3D model of a teapot. rendered with only 4060 tris.
After half a century, Autodesk unveils the Shitpot®. The non-manifold Shitpot with a polycount so high you can't see the fucking thing
Autodesk Research Project Bernini is new experimental generative AI that can quickly generate multiple functional 3D shapes from a variety of inputs including text, 2D images, or voxels.
Watch for future updates as we continue to develop cutting-edge AI: bit.ly/4bqcVU3.
Artists who are more talented and skilled with words than I am (@ArtOfPilgrim) have already spoken about how this AI creates topology that is unusable dogshit—but I wanted to talk about how this demo essentially manipulates inexperienced people in a rather malicious way.
"#AI will never create clean meshes"
AI 👇
This is the new #AI model from NVIDIA called Meshtron (jeez what a name 😅).
It generates meshes of complex 3D objects closely resembling those created by professional artists. It opens the door to a more realistic generation of
So... I managed to find both the skull and the hands from the Skull Trumpet GIF. They seem to be made around 1997. There is no author listed unfortunately.
I have compiled all of the original models, and converted .obj files for you to do whatever.

I extracted one of the models generated by this AI from their website. The normals are completely messed up and it's impossible to edit. It's filled to the brim with self-intersecting, non manifold or z-fighting geometry, the model falls apart once you add shading.

[1/🍔] A THREAD ON RESTORING "FOUR-BYTE BURGER"
For the past week, I decided it would be a cool project to digitally recreate Four-Byte Burger as accurate as I possibly can. Pixel Perfect.
"Hasn't this been done before?" Yes. Although Ahoy's video was really well made [...]
The invisible issue with the topology is that, on its surface, it's not just a matter of "optimization." We solved that since 1987 with marching cubes and more efficient implementations in the 90s. What this AI promises is an "artist-like" topology, which is complete bullshit.
