12 years ago today, a chap called @sacca did 1 of the most amazing things a Silicon Valley insider could do for a small European startup @Spotify with NO presence or contacts in the USA, and the rest as they say is History.

Trust me when I say that daydreaming is the most amazing and powerful way to escape trauma and pain as a child, ask anyone who has lived through such pain and they will tell you daydreaming was their only escape and their only true friend

1, Many folks trying to do a startup do NOT have the luxury of a “Friends & Family round”, same applies for many folks trying to do their first fund without “X % of GP commit”. Not everyone is born wealthy or with access to spare cash from their parents rich friends.

Nearly 14 years ago @shak invested close to half his net worth in an entrepreneur, an individual with a dream and a vision. That entrepreneur was @eldsjal and the company, @Spotify. Today they team up once again to deploy €1Bn to empower “The European Dream”. 🚀

I share the above so all those former children who grew up in similar circumstances and can relate to this can realise that they are not alone in their trauma and journey, “Everyone you meet is fighting their own battle.” as the saying goes

As someone who quit school at 16 (I ran away from home on my 16th bday, long story...) with NO high school exams taken or college or degrees etc. I am really confused when folks (mainly investors) tell me: “Oh, I went to school with him/her” Seriously, WTF does that mean ???

I was today years old when a French friend told me that Almond Croissants are actually one-day old Croissants that have lost all their crispness, hence bakeries can't sell them anymore. They are then sliced horizontally, garnished with almond filling and baked a second time. 😢
