At 37yo I got surprise pregnant (AFTER my husband's vasectomy) with my 5th child. I was scheduled to have a c-section so at my 28 wk appt I asked to have my tubes tied immediately after the birth. My obgyn refused, saying I was too far along in my pregnancy to make that call.

I got a vasectomy 26 years ago, and here's what I noticed: There were no protestors, no one trying to get me to change my mind, no unnecessary medical scans, and no 48 hour waiting period. It's like I was trusted to make my own medical decisions. 🤨

this is what my husband is doing right this moment. he is patiently helping our 14yo with her algebra homework. know why i'm not doing it? i absolutely suck ass at math. this is what a healthy partnership looks like. each of us filling in the gaps of the others' skills.
