CENTS & digital conceptual art I did some rewrites on this article (an re-titled it) to articulate more about digital objecthood and the historical placement of blockchain as a medium, since I realized after some interactions that people weren't so familiar with these things.

It's still quite early in ordinals in terms of major art collections that are representative of the medium (like Autoglyphs, Synth Poems, Chromie Squiggles, IKB are for Ethereum), and I think we have a shot at making this into a historical moment.

Ordinals enjoyoors need to learn to relax and enjoy their NFTs. Reply-guying me that an off-chain-indexed protocol launched in December 2022 was Satoshi's True Vision for NFTs is really something . Don't worry, I can/do own & enjoy ordinals without telling myself fairytales.

CENTS by Rutherford Chang is, to my knowledge, the 1st conceptual art on Bitcoin. It performs the conceptual gesture of Bitcoin itself: the digital transformation of capital, as well as that of Ordinals: transforming the sat, the BTC cent, into a vessel for cultural value.
