At @gi_labs, we are taking on the biggest problem in robotics: high-quality action data. Our answer is a vertically integrated pipeline, from capture hardware to training-ready datasets, and we are hiring the best machine learning engineers and data infra engineers to build it.

Looking back, the biggest useful skill PhD brought me is the ability to identify technical bullshit. You will find technical BS everywhere, in research papers, in industry talks, on X. Finding signals from noises is an art.

The creator of GPT doesn’t have a PhD. The creator of PyTorch doesn’t have a PhD. The research lead at Cursor dropped out of NEU. You don’t need a PhD or a top school to become a great researcher or engineer. You can just do things!

Yann is a scientist at his heart. Zuck is an empire builder. It takes great effort to fix this kind of long term misalignment. You got to admire how Goolge/Deepmind find a way to solve the same kind of conflicts!

My crypto infra thesis: In each bull cycle, there are things generally make sense to do. - 2017 - 2018 bull run: Bitcoin established its dominance as "storage of value" chain, while Etheruem is brewing. - 2020 - 2021 bull run: Ethereum established its dominance as "smart

The scary part is: would the communication software running by big companies, such as WhatsApp and iMessage, despite adopting strong and technologically sound end to end encryption, now or in the future to create a back-door to the government?

This is the "elephant dancing moment". One thing that I am impressed by the @ethereum core protocol team is their consistent effort of improving the core protocol despite: - The consequence of error is huge - The amount of TVL it secures is insane - Unlike other protocols,

Regulation arbitrage is the killer usecase for crypto. Alexandra Elkakyan, the awesome human behind Sci-Hub, is studying how to use meme coins to fund public good project. She probably get more funding from the memecoin than any other means. Memecoin is the captialism way of

One trend in @EFDevcon is that ZK talks are taking over (more than 20%, many of them organized by @0xPARC ). If you miss some of the talks, don't worry. Our amazing @RuihanWondering summarized it here:

WASM would be a better choice. RISCV is designed for hardware implementation not really for IR. You still need a VM on top of RISCV for gas metering and sandboxing anyway.

New @VitalikButerin blog post on replacing the EVM with RISC-V in the long-term. I am a huge fan of this direction for Ethereum's execution layer. Today, RISC-V zkVMs like SP1 are the clear endgame solution for "ZK-ifying" Ethereum and quickly becoming the de-facto solution for
