No more disputes with authors over numbers nobody can explain. Our royalty engine calculates itself from real sales — special terms, multi-author splits, TDS, GST, all automatic. When year-end close stops being a scramble, that's 9 months back for finance. #PublishingIndustry
No disputes with authors over numbers nobody can fully explain. We built the royalty engine to calculate itself from real sales — including the exceptions: special terms, multi-author splits, TDS and GST, all automatic. When the close of a fiscal year stops being a scramble, that's nine months your finance team gets back to do something other than reconcile spreadsheets. #PublishingIndustry #PUBonCloud #BookTradeERP #FinanceOperations #SpringTimeSoftware

Biggest lesson from licensing into India: don't lead with digital rights. Lead with how print, education, eBooks, and audio actually work together there. Read the market before you write the contract. #PublishingRights #IndiaPublishing #RightsDeck #InternationalPublishing
90% of India's publishing revenue still comes from print. Most international rights teams are pricing deals as if that number were 40%.

We surveyed the assumptions rights professionals bring into conversations about India — and the biggest one is the "digital-first" myth.

The reality: 90% of India's publishing revenue is still print → Within that: 71% school publishing, 25% higher education, just 4% trade → eBooks and audiobooks are growing — but from a genuinely small base

This isn't a reason to ignore India. It's a reason to structure the deal differently — combining print, educational publishing, eBooks and audiobooks into one strategy instead of leading with a digital-only license.

The publishers getting this right aren't the ones with the flashiest digital rights clause. They're the ones who read the market before they wrote the contract.

What's the biggest assumption you've had to unlearn about a market you license into?

The publishing industry is evolving rapidly. Cloud technology. Mobile applications. AI-powered insights. Automation. Real-time analytics. The question is no longer: "Should we digitize?" The question is: "How fast can we adapt?"

Many businesses reach a point where growth slows. Not because demand decreases. Because processes become overloaded. More customers. More orders. More data. More complexity. At that stage, software stops being an expense. It becomes a growth enabler.
