I haven't reached for an IIFE (immediately-invoked function expression) since the jQuery days, but I've been using it lately for embedding a switch statement into JSX in a React component, and I quite like it:

Honestly the most fun part of my job is building admin tooling. It feels so high-leverage, and you have a tight feedback loop with your end users, who are your colleagues. It's fairly easy to blow their minds with a little bit of UI work lol.
