I haven't reached for an IIFE (immediately-invoked function expression) since the jQuery days, but I've been using it lately for embedding a switch statement into JSX in a React component, and I quite like it:
Interest rates are up! The post-Great Recession tech boom was fueled be near-zero rates, causing institutional investors to flood into VC, drastically increasing the amount of money invested in tech and making valuations skyrocket. The era of free money is coming to an end.
Honestly the most fun part of my job is building admin tooling. It feels so high-leverage, and you have a tight feedback loop with your end users, who are your colleagues. It's fairly easy to blow their minds with a little bit of UI work lol.
