Some people say it’s guns. And they’re correct. Others say it’s damaged people, and they’re correct, too. So why don’t we address this from all angles? Make guns harder to get. Invest in people before they turn to guns. We don’t need more debate about what causes this. Action!

My mom graduated from ⁦@du1869⁩ and went on to become the first Black woman to earn a Ph.D in biology from ⁦@Tulane⁩ she went back to Dillard to teach and chair their Natural Sciences department for 25 years. Tonight, they named her old laboratory in her honor.

When did this “you’re not Black if your ancestors were not slaves in America” foolishness start? I went to Howard in the 80s with Black people from all over the world. We ALL would have laughed at this divisive drivel. I’m convinced it’s being used strategically.

In New Orleans, the second line is a traditional celebration of life, with music and marching, in the aftermath of a death. It is usually done following a funeral, but Kobe fans in New Orleans were inspired. 🙏🏾 RIP

Whitlock will only get worse. Anti-black rhetoric comes easily for him because of personal insecurity and self-loathing. But HE has to get worse because his employers demand it. And he has zero leverage to say no. He’s stuck. It’s more predictable than provocative at this point

A reporter has to ask Abbott, on camera, to explain his rationale for this pardon. The man was convicted by a jury of his peers and sentenced to 25 years for murdering another human being at point blank range, after driving into a group of protestors. What is the message here?

1) The new Caitlin Clark phenomenon is striking. People who desperately wanted to use her as an avatar for their own bigotry have now turned on HER because she refuses to be used in that manner. They were never actual “fans.” She’s better off without any who repudiate her now.
