I want every New York kid to have the fuel they need to succeed. Starting this school year, breakfast and lunch are free for all students.

My friend’s boyfriend is an AP English teacher in Austin. He brings his dog Banjo to school every day. Less teachers with guns, more teachers with corgis.

Last night my friend’s boyfriend was taking a photo of our group and a gen Z girl walked by, grabbed the phone out of his hand, took the best photo we’ve ever seen, handed the phone back, and walked away.

My dog hit me in the eye while we were playing this morning. After the pain subsided I found Simon hiding on the couch in a ball, ears down, tail between his legs. He was afraid to let me pet him. It’s a stark reminder I have no idea what his life was like before I adopted him.

I am an idiot for not getting a library card sooner. I just...press a button...and the audiobook is on my phone...for free. LIBRARIES ARE AMAZING.

When I was a babysitter I once let a kid eat half a bag of mini marshmallows to shut her up and when her parents heard about it they were like "ugh yeah sorry she's so annoying, anyways here's $60 see you next week." We used to be a civilized society.

There’s no way to get ahead when your salary increases 1.5% per year but your rent increases 10%.
