If you're an old millennial/young Gen-Xer you hit the birth timeline lottery. Old enough for a tech-free, OG childhood with autonomy and freedom to roam. Young enough to be exposed to tech as you came of age & understand it. Can't think of a better time to be born.

Currently hiring and I'm being reminded of how powerful my #1 tactic for screening applicants is. Instead of a resume ask them to respond to 5-7 questions via email. Based on their writing and email alone I can tell in ~30 seconds if they're a good fit. Strongly recommended.

Over the next few years we’ll see a meaningful decline in brands selling on Amazon. There’s three forces at play: #1 - Consumer behavior is shifting #2 - Off-Amazon brands perform better #3 - The migration has already begun Let’s take them one by one.

1) Start small and slowly. Nothing kills a budding Community like trying to cram 500 people into one place quickly and telling them to "connect". You need to bring people in 5-10 at a time: introduce them to one other, start discussions and tag people with applicable expertise.

What DID matter? Successful stores were 600% more likely to cite "Branding & Storytelling" as their comp. advantage and 77% more likely to make their own products. The strongest predictor of profitability was lean, efficient operations - NOT advertising performance.

Friends help each other out. Period. If one of my good friends is in a financial situation where they can’t afford movers I’m helping out. It’s the same reason you help your Dad fix his iPhone vs. telling him to call Best Buy, even if it’s most cost efficient. #love

Highly profitable companies were 25% less reliant on paid traffic, had 50% fewer employees and were more likely to outsource fulfillment. Takeaway? A strong brand, high-margin model and lean ops. are more important than ROAS. Act accordingly & get lean like @MehtabKarta!

Just ran a poll inside our Community on how COVID-19 has impacted revenue for 7- and 8-figure store owners. Got 125+ responses and the results are fascinating. Biggest surprise was that the aggregate drop wasn't quite as bad as I had predicted.
